A pupilometer works by measuring the distance between the bridge of your nose where a pair of eyeglasses would rest and the center of each of your pupils. If a pupilometer is not used, the center of the lens may be in the wrong spot, and will cause the person to be unable to see; glasses may be fit poorly and cause physical discomfort, eye strain and fatigue, and headaches. A pupilometer is also the most accurate way to measure a PD (Pupil Distance)
